Pengelolaan Jasa Ekosistem Hutan Riparian Permaculture
Synopsis
Buku Jasa Ekosistem Hutan Riparian Permaculture memuat hasil analisis dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Kemitraan (PKMK) 2021, yang didanai oleh Anggaran PNBP Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Buku ini berfokus pada zona riparian, yaitu area pertemuan antara ekosistem darat (terestrial) dan air (aquatik), yang memiliki kesuburan tinggi karena ketersediaan unsur hara dan air baik secara spasial maupun temporal. Zona ini berfungsi sebagai habitat penting bagi berbagai jenis organisme karena produktivitasnya yang tinggi dan beragamnya fungsi ekosistem yang ditawarkan. Di kawasan hulu yang relatif jauh dari pemukiman, hutan riparian berperan alami dalam menyediakan jasa ekosistem, seperti penyediaan bahan baku alami. Sementara itu, di kawasan hilir yang lebih dekat dengan wilayah pesisir, zona ini seringkali telah direkayasa menjadi area perkotaan atau hunian, berubah menjadi ekosistem binaan. Eksploitasi alam yang berlebihan dan peningkatan populasi manusia perlu dikendalikan agar keseimbangan lingkungan tetap terjaga, sehingga pengelolaan jasa ekosistem harus berdasarkan prinsip keberlanjutan untuk menghindari potensi bencana. Buku ini juga menguraikan secara mendetail tentang penerapan konsep Permaculture sebagai strategi untuk mengelola dan melestarikan fungsi serta manfaat hutan riparian, dalam upaya mengurangi dampak negatif dari perubahan iklim.
